3 Days To The High Dunes Of Merzouga

An amazing adventure tour for 3 Day Tour from Marrakech to high Dunes of Merzouga, including private guided tours, treks and day trips.

1st day: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dadés Valley

Departure will be at 8 am in Marrakech morning to the High Atlas Mountains of the Moroccan Atlas, through the port of Tizi N’Tichka with stops for a panoramic view and take pictures of the small Berber villages that go camouflage in the landscape. then we will continue south to the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). a set of famous films were shot in this stage spectacular, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz … etc. Free time for lunch in town. We continue then towards Ouarzazate, also called “the door of the desert”, which means in Berber “without noise or confusion”.We will see here the kasbah of Taourirt, one of the most spectacular ksars of Morocco. The next destination to visit is the valley of roses crossing the large palm grove of Skoura; a beautiful place to contemplate more than 700,000 palm trees and many kasbahs built in the vicinity. In this valley, damascene roses are cultivated for aesthetic purposes such as precious rose water. The Rose Festival is held here every year in May. It is an important museum for Moroccan culture. Finally we reach the Dades Valley where we will spend the night.

2nd Day: Dadés Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek and overnight in Berber Camp

We start the second day with a breakfast, then enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Dades Valley from a strategic lookout point in the mountains. From there, you will be able to appreciate the large number of kasbahs and the characteristics features of each of them. A very good paved road climbs the valley of the city of Tinerhir to the throat then to the desert. After a few stops on the way, we will reach the Todra Gorge. The landscape is spectacular. The inhabitants live in the area and can be seen in their adobe villages. Thanks to its rock walls with many uneven surfaces, these gorges are very popular with climbers.you will have a short walk in the Todra Gorge, lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug, then we will continue our way in the desert to reach the spectacular dunes of Merzouga.

3rd Day: Merzouga Dunes – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Getting up early in the morning to see the sunrise, In the middle of the desert, getting up early is a must to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise ever seen atop a dune near the camp.Then we return to Merzouga on the camels to have our breakfast. After regaining strength, we begin our last day of travel through the arid pre-desert region where we meet the acacia tree typical of these landscapes. On the way to the Draa Valley, we offer a few stops to enjoy the beautiful view of the river that gave its name to the valley. It is the longest river of Morocco, crossing the country of the hole to reach Mauritania. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate through the Anti Atlas.We will have some free time for lunch in town and in the afternoon, we will resume our journey to Marrakech to arrive around 20 hours.
